Trisha Fong is the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for E4H Environments for Health Architecture, and leads its award-winning DEI initiative, 4wrd, which is dedicated to achieving a more balanced workforce, providing education and programming, and taking a DEI-based approach to healthcare design.

E4H is a healthcare architecture, planning, and interior design firm consisting of over 250 people in 10 offices across the United States. E4H is consistently ranked #1 among architecture firms solely dedicated to healthcare in Engineering News Record (ENR)’s annual Top 500 Design Firms Sourcebook survey. In 2022, Women In Healthcare awarded E4H’s 4wrd program the “Making a Difference Award,” recognizing E4H as a company that is making significant contributions to their community through time, action, talents, and dedication.

Trisha has over 18 years of experience in medical planning, interiors, communications, and graphic design. Trisha’s career began with medical planning in teaching hospitals and county medical centers. Her architectural background in healthcare provides unique insights into design solutions and graphics. She combines these skills with community engagement, and design sensitivity to produce projects, internal and external communications, as well as materials that address and enhance the user experience and communicate a connection to purpose. Prior to joining E4H, Trisha worked nationally and internationally for healthcare architecture firms and started her own business.

Trisha’s current work is a passionate focus on E4H’s 4wrd initiative, which is dedicated to educating staff on relevant issues and helping them reach their highest potential. Trisha’s vision for 4wrd is to create a space for continuous progress and improvement on DEI issues. 4wrd empowers staff to recognize biased behavior and provides tools to address microaggressions in a professional manner. Participants learn to recognize and disrupt learned behaviors – to act, educate, and promote more equitable behaviors. Under Trisha’s leadership, the 4wrd team has made an incredible impact on the firm and broader E4H community through monthly educational programming, elevating cultural awareness, and encouraging accountability.
