With more than 30 years of experience spanning healthcare leadership, engineering, and military service, Stephen is a seasoned executive known for leading complex real estate and facilities portfolios for large healthcare systems. As Chief Facilities Operations & Planning Officer at UHealth / Miller School of Medicine, he provides strategic and operational oversight for South Florida’s only academic-based health system, supporting both community care and the advancement of medical education and research.
Prior to joining UHealth, Stephen held senior leadership roles with MedStar Health, the Defense Health Agency, and the U.S. Army Medical Command, where he led large, multidisciplinary teams and managed mission-critical healthcare infrastructure in highly complex environments. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Colonel after a distinguished career in military healthcare leadership.
Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from Purdue University and earned his Ph.D. in Engineering and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
