Mike is a healthcare design and construction management executive leader specializing in complex programs, systems, project types, and team collaboration. Mike has led national and international organizations, program and project delivery teams, and national-scale capital programs for over 35 years in Europe and North & South America. 

Before joining Medxcel, Mike led a consulting practice focused on team performance for capital projects in the healthcare sector, working on self-analysis and team development. Prior to this, Mike has led several national and international healthcare capital program teams with Fortune 500 organizations with a focus on process improvements, cultural alignment of mission/effort/result, enhanced fiscal management of resources, and overall stewardship of the environment of care. 

Mike’s expertise lies in assembling and molding high-performance teams into cohesive units characterized with unparalleled success at achieving program and project goals. Utilizing techniques garnered from over 35 years studying and managing process, programs, culture, and teams, Mike leads teams to turn complex programs into an intricate dance of coordinated activities, achieving atypical results. 

Mike holds degrees in Organization Development, Business Management, Physics, Radiologic Technology, and Medicine. He is a life-long learner and coach. He holds certifications and licenses in several professions including healthcare project management, facilities management, healthcare construction, and real estate brokerage. Mike is a past Regional Vice President of IFMA, past President of two IFMA Chapters, immediate Past President of CAHED, Past President of the Health Care Institute (HCI), and President of the newly formed Association of Medical Facility Professionals (AMFP). Mike was recently named a Faculty Fellow of the Center for Health Systems & Design, College of Architecture, at Texas A&M. 

Mike has been Founder and Chair of two nonprofit organizations focused on at-risk youth and job skills development for second career (or beyond) adults. He is a frequent speaker on personal motivation, high- performance teams, team collaboration techniques, US healthcare reform, capital programs, and life balance. 

During his personal time Mike enjoys hiking, climbing, bicycle endurance riding, motorcycle touring, camping, backpacking, reading, history, and muscle car restoration.
