John Greely is the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC), where he oversees daily hospital operations and partners with clinical and administrative leaders to drive strategic and operational priorities. He is responsible for key support services including facilities, pharmacy, laboratory, diagnostic imaging, environmental services, and patient support functions. In his role, he focuses on improving operational efficiency, ensuring high-quality and safe patient care, and expanding access to services across the region. Prior to joining UM BWMC, he spent more than a decade at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in a range of leadership roles, most recently as Vice President of Operations. He brings deep experience in hospital operations, performance improvement, and cross-functional team leadership. Greely holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and a master’s degree from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.
