Joe Powell is a registered Architect with a Master’s Degree in Architecture. He was the founding Executive Director of the Rice University Building Institute in Houston and author of The New Competitiveness in Design and Construction, published by John Wiley & Sons, London. He is currently Executive Director of the Academy for Healthcare Infrastructure, a program of the University Research Institute in Washington, DC. The Academy enjoys participation from 30 of the nation’s largest healthcare systems plus the Defense Health Agency, VA, and National Institutes of Health.
