Robert R. Feldbauer, DBA, FACHE, is an accomplished healthcare executive with vast experience in both system-level operational management and leading billion-dollar hospital capital projects. He excels in creating strategic vision that delivers enhanced healthcare services, improved patient satisfaction, and financial growth. Fiercely dedicated to every project he undertakes, Robert has eye for identifying areas of opportunity and inciting change that elevates a healthcare organization to the next level.

Robert currently serves as Executive Vice President, Facilities & Real Estate for Children’s Health System of Texas, located in Dallas, TX. In this role, he provides senior level leadership, strategic oversight and management for all facility, real estate and planning, design and construction, off-site property management, security, environmental services and engineering and project management across the system.

Most recently, Robert served as System Vice President, Chief Facilities & Administrative Officer for University of Cincinnati Health, where he has led the strategic vision and master planning of a $1.3B campus master plan for UC Health’s Clifton Campus. He has led engineering, design and construction efforts for $240M in projects from Phase 1 of the plan. He has spearheaded this effort this while simultaneously overseeing facilities engineering, real estate and property management, police and public safety, emergency management, parking, telecommunications and dispatch, clinical engineering, and ensuring regulations and building code compliance. In this role, he also led the design, construction, and opening of the $68.8M UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute, a landmark building for which he secured federal tax credit benefits and a $40M private investment—the largest in the U.S. in 2017.

Robert previously held roles with Abu Dhabi Health Services, University of Cincinnati Medical Center, and Mercy Hospital Fairfield, where he spearheaded major capital projects while also providing operational oversight for multiple support and ancillary departments. His career history tells a story of being highly-effective in both leading monumental capital projects and also enhancing hospital operations that lead to increased services, revenue, and patient satisfaction. Each organization won national and international recognitions and awards directly related to his leadership and accomplishments.

With a combined 22 years of service in the U.S. Air Force/Air Force Reserves, Robert has adopted a leadership style reminiscent of his military career, with a strong focus on teamwork, communication, a positive attitude, and loyalty. He is a competent, collaborative, and approachable leader known for his pragmatic common sense and ability to accomplish tasks within highly-complex organizations.

Robert’s professional history is complemented by a Doctor of Business Administration degree from the University of Liverpool, a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Southern Indiana, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management from Syracuse University. He is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Society for Healthcare Engineering.

Robert was honored as the 2021 Advocate of the Year from the Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council, the 2017 and 2018 Developer of the Year from the Ohio-Kentucky Construction Summit, and the 2017 Excellence in Economic Inclusion Advocate Award from the Ohio-Kentucky Construction Summit.
